【ChatGPTで英会話練習】レストラン編：AIに接客係をしてもらい、英語で注文の練習をしてみた！
皆さんこんにちは。ForB（フォービー） Englishの番場です。本日はChatGPT（チャットジーピーティー）を使って、レストランで注文の練習をしてみたので、その方法と練習結果をご紹介します。
ChatGPTは人工知能によって、こちらが質問したものに対して、チャット形式で自動応答してくれるものです。まだ、試したことがない方は是非一度使ってみてください。
それでは、ChatGPTを使ってレストランで注文する練習をしていきましょう。
練習前の準備
まずChatGPTに自分が英語を上達させたいことと、ChatGPTと会話がしたいことを伝えます。
私：I want to improve my English. Can we have a conversation?
ChatGPT：Of course! I'd be happy to have a conversation with you and help you improve your English skills. What topics would you like to talk about?
快く引き受けてくれました。次に、レストランでの会話練習をしたいことを伝えます。私が客でChatGPTが接客係役をするように伝えます。
私：I want to do a role-play in a restaurant. I'll play a customer ordering and you'll play a server taking my order. Respond only to each of the lines I type but do not type the script of this role-play.
ChatGPT：Sure, I'd be happy to do a role-play with you! Let's get started. What would you like to order?
こちらも快く引き受けてくれました。ここで下記の約束事を伝えます。
- ネイティブの英語の先生がするように、英語の間違いを指摘して正しく直す
- 1回直したら終わりではなく、間違いを直し続ける
私：First, let me set some parameters for this role-play before we get started.
ChatGPT：Sure thing! What parameters would you like to set for our role-play?
私：Here are the parameters: No. 1. Address my English mistakes and how you would correct them for each of my typed lines, as a Native English teacher would. Number 2. Continue to keep providing me feedback and corrections to my English, even after you think I give a correct response.
ChatGPT：Alright, I understand the parameters. Let's begin the role-play then. Please go ahead and place your order.
私：You start the role-play.
練習開始
それでは、会話を開始しましょう。ChatGPTから会話を始めてもらいます。
接客係（ChatGPT）：Welcome to our restaurant! How may I assist you today?
客（私）：Can I have table today?
接客係（ChatGPT）：Of course! Would you like a table for one or for multiple people? Also, it's better to use "a" before "table" as it is a countable noun. So you should say, "Can I have a table today?"
わざと「table」に「a」を付けず、席があるか聞いてみました。「table」は数えられる名詞なので「a」を付けたほうが良いと指摘され、正しい文も書いてくれました。
- Can I have table today? ⇒ Can I have a table today?
会話を続けます。
客（私）：Can I have a table for one today?
接客係（ChatGPT）：Sure, I'll find you a table for one. Follow me, please.
客（私）：Thanks.
接客係（ChatGPT）：You're welcome. Here's your table. Would you like to see our menu? It might help you decide what you'd like to order. Also, instead of saying "Thanks", it's more formal to say "Thank you".
客（私）：Menu, please.
接客係（ChatGPT）：Certainly, here's our menu. We have a variety of dishes to choose from. Do you have any questions or would you like me to recommend something? By the way, it's better to say "May I see the menu, please?" to make it more polite.
私が書いた文に対して、下記のように丁寧な言い方を教えてくれました。
- Thanks. ⇒ Thank you.
- Menu, please. ⇒ May I see the menu, please?
客（私）：Can you recomend something?
接客係（ChatGPT）：Absolutely, I'd be happy to recommend some dishes for you. Our chef's special of the day is the grilled salmon served with roasted vegetables, which is a very popular choice. We also have some other customer favorites like the spaghetti carbonara or the sirloin steak. Would you like to try any of those? By the way, you made a small mistake in your spelling of "recommend". The correct spelling is "recommend".
ここでは、「recommend（勧める）」のスペリングをわざと間違えましたが、きちんと指摘してくれました。
- recomend ⇒ recommend
客（私）：I'd like the sirloin steak, please.
接客係（ChatGPT）：Great choice! How would you like your steak cooked, rare, medium or well-done? Also, you can add "to" after "like" to make it grammatically correct, so it would be "I'd like the sirloin steak, please."
ここは間違っていないのに、なぜか間違っているかのように言われてしまいました。
客（私）：medium, please.
接客係（ChatGPT）：Perfect, we'll prepare your sirloin steak cooked to medium. Would you like any side dishes or drinks with your meal? Also, remember to use a comma after "medium, please" to make it grammatically correct.
ここは、先頭が大文字ではないことを指摘してもらいたかったのですが、正しく書かれてある部分が、間違っているかのように言われてしまいました。
客（私）：I'd like a glass of water and a Coke, please.
接客係（ChatGPT）：Sure thing, I'll make sure to get you a glass of water and a Coke with your sirloin steak. Is there anything else you'd like to order or is that all for now? Also, it's better to use "some" before "water" instead of "a glass of" as "water" is an uncountable noun, so you can say "I'd like some water and a Coke, please".
正しい英文でも間違いを指摘しようとしますね。
客（私）：No, that's everything for now. Thank you.
接客係（ChatGPT）：You're welcome. Your order will be ready soon. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for choosing our restaurant.
最後は無事終わりました。
練習終了・フィードバックをもらう
ここで会話を終了し、会話練習に対するフィードバックをもらいました。
私：Let's finish the role-play and can you give me feedback?
ChatGPT：Sure, here's your sirloin steak cooked to medium, along with your glass of water and Coke. I hope you enjoy your meal!
In terms of feedback, overall, you did a great job in our role-play! Your English skills are very good, but there are some areas where you could make some improvements. One of the most common mistakes was forgetting to use articles like "a" or "the" before countable nouns. Another area that could use some improvement is in your sentence structure and word choice. Sometimes, your sentences were a little incomplete or could have been phrased more naturally. But don't worry, with a little bit more practice, you'll be able to improve on these areas!
最後は、料理が運ばれてきていましたが、会話練習に対するフィードバックももらえました。
全体的には素晴らしかったと言ってもらえましたね。指摘事項は、「a」や「the」の付け忘れ、文の構造と言葉の選び方、文章が不完全であったり、もっと自然な表現にすることもできたということでした。
