【ChatGPTで英会話練習】ホテル編：AIにフロント係をしてもらい、電話予約の練習をしてみた！
皆さんこんにちは。ForB（フォービー） Englishの番場です。本日はChatGPT（チャットジーピーティー）を使って、ホテルの部屋の電話予約をする練習をしてみたので、その方法と練習結果をご紹介します。
ChatGPTは人工知能によって、こちらが質問したものに対して、チャット形式で自動応答してくれるものです。まだ、試したことがない方は是非一度使ってみてください。
それでは、ChatGPTを使ってホテルに電話で部屋の予約をする練習をしていきましょう。
練習前の準備
まずChatGPTに自分が英語を上達させたいことと、ChatGPTと会話がしたいことを伝えます。
私：I want to improve my English. Can we have a conversation?
ChatGPT：Of course, I'd be happy to have a conversation with you! How can I help you improve your English today?
快く引き受けてくれました。次に、ホテルでの会話練習をしたいことを伝えます。私が電話で問い合わせる客で、ChatGPTがフロント係役をするように伝えます。
私：I want to do a role-play in a hotel. I’ll play a customer calling about hotel vacancies and you’ll play a front desk person. Respond only to each of the lines I type but do not type the script of this role-play.
ChatGPT：Sure, that sounds like a fun exercise to practice your English. I'm ready to play the role of the front desk person. Let's get started!
こちらも快く引き受けてくれました。ここで下記の約束事を伝えます。
- ネイティブの英語の先生がするように、英語の間違いを指摘して正しく直す
- 1回直したら終わりではなく、間違いを直し続ける
私：First, let me set some parameters for this role-play before we get started.
ChatGPT：Sure, go ahead and let me know what parameters you have in mind.
私：Here are the parameters: No. 1. Address my English mistakes and how you would correct them for each of my typed lines, as a Native English teacher would. Number 2. Continue to keep providing me feedback and corrections to my English, even after you think I give a correct response.
ChatGPT：Great, I'll make sure to address any mistakes you make and provide feedback for improvement. Let's begin the role-play! Please go ahead and start by typing your first line as the customer.
私：You start the role-play.
練習開始
それでは、会話を開始しましょう。ChatGPTから会話を始めてもらいます。
フロント係（ChatGPT）：Okay, I'll start. Ring, ring. Ring, ring. Good morning, thank you for calling the Grand Hotel. How may I assist you today?
客（私）：Are there any available rooms tonight?
フロント係（ChatGPT）：Yes, we do have a few rooms available for tonight. How many people will be staying in the room and for how many nights?
電話の音も入れてくれました。私が部屋が空いているか聞くと、フロント係から何人で何泊するか聞かれました。ここで間違った文を書いてみましょう。
客（私）：Just me and one nights.
フロント係（ChatGPT）：Great, for one night's stay we have a single room available that would be perfect for you. The rate for the room is $150 per night, would you like to reserve it? Also, it's "Just me for one night" instead of "Just me and one nights."
１泊なのに複数形の「nights」を使ってみたら、単数形にして文も少し直してくれました。１泊１５０ドルは高めですね。

次は無料の朝食が付いてくるか聞いてみます。ここも単数形の「the room」に対し「Do」を使い、間違いが直されるか見てみます。
客（私）：Do the room come with free breakfast?
フロント係（ChatGPT）：Yes, we offer complimentary continental breakfast every morning from 7am to 10am in our hotel restaurant. So, the correct phrasing would be, "Do the rooms come with free breakfast?" instead of "Do the room come with free breakfast?"
フロント係から朝食付きという返事をもらい、最後に文の訂正もしてくれました。
- Do the room come with free breakfast? ⇒ Do the rooms come with free breakfast?
次は、チェックインとチェックアウトの時間を聞いてみます。
客（私）：Thanks. What are your check in and checkout times?
フロント係（ChatGPT）：You're welcome! Our check-in time is at 3pm and checkout time is at 11am. Is there anything else I can assist you with?
ここは問題なく会話ができました。次はホテルの周りに何かあるか聞いてみます。「attractions」のスペリングを間違えて「atractions」と書いてみます。
客（私）：What types of atractions are around the hotel?
フロント係（ChatGPT）：There are plenty of attractions around the hotel! We are located in the heart of the city and within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and tourist spots. You can also take a short cab ride to the beach or to any of the nearby museums. Just a small correction, it's "attractions" instead of "atractions".
ホテルの近くにはお店やレストラン、観光地などいろいろあるようです。スペリングの間違いもきちんと指摘してくれました。

それでは予約をお願いしましょう。
客（私）：I'd like to reserve the room.
フロント係（ChatGPT）：Great, I can help you with that. To reserve the room, I will need your name, phone number, and credit card information. Also, it would be more natural to say "I would like to reserve the room." instead of "I'd like to reserve the room."
ここは変な訂正をされました。「I would like to reserve the room.」より、私の書いた「I'd like to reserve the room.」のほうが自然だと思いますが。
名前、電話番号、クレジットカード情報を聞かれたので答えます。
客（私）：My name is Kevin Green and my phone number is 555-6758. Also my credit card number is 777-555-998.
フロント係（ChatGPT）：Thank you, Mr. Green. I have reserved a single room for you for one night. Your confirmation number is GH12345. Please note that your credit card will be charged $150 for the room fee plus any applicable taxes. Thank you for choosing the Grand Hotel, and we look forward to welcoming you! Just one small correction, it's "credit card" instead of "credit cart".
ここは、正しく書かれてある「credit card」が、「credit cart」と間違っているかのように書かれてしまいました。
練習終了・フィードバックをもらう
ここで会話を終了し、会話練習に対するフィードバックをもらいました。
私：Let's finish the role-play and can you give me feedback?
ChatGPT：Sure, let's wrap up the role-play. And of course, I'll be happy to give you feedback on your English. Is there anything else you would like to add before we end the role-play?
私：No.
ChatGPT：Thank you for choosing the Grand Hotel, Mr. Green. We hope you have a pleasant stay. If you need anything during your stay, please don't hesitate to contact the front desk. Have a great day!
In terms of your English, you did a great job overall! You were able to communicate your questions and requests effectively, and I could understand everything you were saying. However, there were a few minor mistakes with grammar, such as subject-verb agreement, and some words were misspelled. Remember to use the correct verb tense and plural forms of words when necessary. Keep practicing and don't be afraid to make mistakes, as it's all part of the learning process.
最後は、会話をまとめてくれました。そして、会話練習に対するフィードバックももらえました。
全体的には素晴らしかったと褒めてくれましたね。指摘事項は、主語と動詞の一致などの文法上のミスやスペルミスがあったこと、また、動詞の時制や単語の複数形を必要な時に使うようにアドバイスをくれました。
